Losing a pet is one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced, and it changed my life in ways I never expected. When my sweet little cuddle bug Rocco passed, I found myself searching for photos of him, desperately wishing I had more. My memories of him were vivid, but I longed for more tangible pieces of him—a way to see his expressions, his quirks, and the unique ways he showed his love.
This journey through loss led me to the world of pet photography. I knew I wasn’t alone in that feeling of regret, that quiet longing for more memories captured. That’s when I decided to start Indy Paw Prints with a mission to help other pet parents preserve these precious memories. I felt drawn to creating “Rainbow Bridge” sessions for pets who are nearing the end of their time with us. These sessions became the heart of my work—a way to help others honor the bond they share with their pets and to capture those cherished moments they can hold onto forever.
Each session is bittersweet, filled with love, joy, and often a few tears. Through my lens, I capture not only the physical presence of each pet but also the unique connection they share with their person. My hope is that these photos bring comfort, providing a lasting memory of their pet’s spirit, quirks, and unconditional love.
Losing my baby boy way to early taught me the value of memories, and through Indy Paw Prints, I hope to give this gift to others. These pets leave paw prints on our hearts, and I believe they deserve to be remembered, celebrated, and honored. It’s a privilege I’m grateful to offer, and I’ll always carry the memory of my boy with me in every photo I take.
So I made Indy Paw Prints in Honor of Rocco. Gone to soon, I like to think he helps guide the pets I take photos of over the Rainbow Bridge more gently then he had to pass.
